When 27 girls and young women took to the ice at AZ Peoria last weekend, they did so with pride and purpose.  After all they were the first group of skaters to represent the newly founded Grand Canyon University Women's Hockey team, even if it was five months before their first ever game.

First year head coach Natalie Rossi was not only impressed with the number of girls who came out for the prospect camp, but also with the effort and intensity the girls from ages 14 to 19 displayed over the three day event.  While evaluating the talent was top priority the girls also got the opportunity to meet the coaches, learn about the direction of the program and take tours of the Grand Canyon University campus.
